Since The Geek Within will be on hiatus for the next week or two, here is some good stand-up from Daniel Tosh to keep you occupied:

pingpong

Title: Ping Pong
Release date: 7/20/02
Genre: Sports comedy
Cast: Kubozuka Yosuke, Arata, Sam Lee, Nakamura Shido, Okura Koji, Takenaka Naoto, Natsuki Mari
Plot: Peco (Kubozuka), a really good table tennis player, meets his match against a player from China (Lee), but there is another talented player Peco must face. Will he meet the challenge or give up his lifelong dream of being the world’s best table tennis player?
What is good: Kubozuka Yosuke once again pulls off an amazing character.
What is bad: I can’t think of anything that really detracts from the movie.
Letter rating: A
Overall: I really love Kubozuka’s acting and his skills shine here. The rest of the cast supports him well, even though I did find myself giggling a little bit about all the drama that takes place around ping pong. This is definitely a movie that every jdorama lover should watch at least once.

Over the weekend, I took some time out to play Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light. I figured it would be a typical hidden object game that wouldn’t require a lot of thought. Man, was I wrong!

Each hidden object in the game comes in pieces. You have to find all of the pieces for each object. Then, where normal games would just mark off that you found that item, you have to use the item to find the rest of the list. For example, you have to find all the pieces of a key to open a chest that will hold a piece of another item. It makes the gameplay a lot more interesting since you have to figure out which is the first object you need to find all the pieces for and where to use it. I had tons of fun playing this game. I think I’ll be buying it in the near future.

Bathing suit season is almost over. Sadly, I did not lose any weight this year. That just means I’ll have plenty to time to research diet pills that work for next year. I don’t know that I’ll actually give any of them a try, but it won’t kill me to just look, right? Besides, I get bored a lot and need something to read about!

I have had a fair amount of work done on my teeth. When I was in junior high, I had braces for three years. Now that I’m an adult, my teeth seem to be getting out of whack again. (Though, I may just be imagining it…) I was looking at the website for this Orange New Jersey cosmetic dentist. I can’t decide if doing a teeth whitening thing would make much of a difference. Then again, I only really feel bad about my teeth when I’m looking in the mirror. Maybe I should just stop looking in mirrors ^_^

My husband’s car is in the shop today to have some belts changed. Things like this always have us thinking about those ‘insurance’ type deals we see on television, where you take out a policy with the company and they pay if something goes wrong with your car like needing a new exhaust or something. They look so shady though. And that reminds me, I need to get auto insurance quotes for regular insurance stuff. That gets so expensive. Blah.

In June and July, Gackt released a slew of singles. “Koakuma Heaven” came out on June 10, 2009. It is a fast-paced dive into the seedy world of club hostesses and prostitutes. Yet it is really catchy and difficult to get out of your head once you hear it. It’s not my absolute favorite from his recent releases, but it’s a close second.

During my lunch break yesterday, I went over to K-Mart. They had all their outdoor furniture out. I spent way too much time looking at the stuff, wishing I had a patio large enough to accommodate a nice table and some chairs. Right now, our patio is only large enough to fit the lawn mower, which isn’t all that big. I don’t know that it would be possible to make the patio larger. Our back yard isn’t all that big. Maybe, one day, we can afford one of the really nice houses with the huge backyard and deck.
